First Week in Utah

This week has been wonderful.  Trina arrived on Monday night and stayed with Sherry, Mckaiden and me.  Also on Tuesday our friend Beena Thomas from India came to start school at the LDS Business College.  Trina helped her to find a place to live and got her set up for school.  We traveled to SLC everyday and I got to see the temple each time we went.  I can hardly wait to start my mission and to know that I will be serving my Savior and helping his children to have their work done for them.  Although I will miss being with my family, I know this is where I am to be.  I am still working on my own genealogy each day and delight in doing so.  As I read the scriptures I know that the Book of Mormon is true and is filled of words to enrich my life.

Set Apart

This morning I was set apart by President Morgan in the Stake Building in Liberty, Missouri by the Kansas City Temple.  Attending was President Morgan, my daughter, Kathrina and her husband, Nathan, my grandchildren Alma, Joseph and Olea MacDonald and of course, me.  It was a wonderful spiritual experience and one I will remember throughout my life.  We then went to our ward for the rest of our meetings.  It is so hard to say goodbye to so many friends.  I am filled with joy to know that I am now a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a new life is beginning for me.  My love and prayers go with all my friends of the Liberty 1st Ward and all my family members both here in Missouri, as well as in Utah, North Dakota and Arizona.  May God bless you all and have His spirit to be with you always.    Sister Solomon
